Asian Student Conference takes initiative and donates to Heartspring

Asian Student Conference (ASC) recently had a guest speaker from Heartspring speak to its members regarding the organization. After its recent general meeting, ASC presented a $1,500 check to Heartspring to raise awareness and provide support to the philanthropic organizations within the Wichita community.

Each year, Asian Student Conference helps to serve the Wichita community by providing volunteer opportunities to its members.

Asian Student Conference is an organization that aims to promote Asian-American cultural diversity through the works of community service, leadership conferences and campus activities at Wichita State University. The organization is one of the largest recognized multicultural organizations at WSU. It was established in 2003 to bring students together from various backgrounds to promote Asian culture on campus and within the Wichita community.

The cultural-based organization unites young Asians of differing heritages and encourages them to make use of their strong voices and thoughts. Members who are a part of this organization learn about the culture, network, take on leadership positions and interact with the campus community.

Two signature events that ASC hosts at Wichita State include, but are not limited to, "The ASC Annual Date Auction" and "ASC Assembly Multicultural Variety Show." The philanthropy of ASC is to help local charities around the Wichita metropolitan area.
