Reminders

* Attention faculty and staff: If you know a graduating senior this spring who has a compelling story -- whether it's overcoming a hardship, a significant accomplishment or someone with a great job opportunity -- let us know at wsutoday@wichita.edu. Just write a sentence or two about the student and explain what makes this person an interesting story.

* For one in five women, their dream will become a nightmare. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend the film screening of "The Hunting Ground," an expose of rape crimes on U.S. college campuses, at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, in 208 Hubbard Hall.

* The Shocker baseball team will host the University of Oklahoma at 7 p.m. today (Tuesday, April 28) at Eck Stadium. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).

* Stop by the University Bookstore's annual Bargain Bonanza sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. today (Tuesday, April 28) and Wednesday, April 29, on the RSC east patio. From apparel to painting supplies and everything between, we have what you need. Stop by for some great deals.

* An active shooter campus training session is planned for 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, April. 29, in 233 RSC. The Campus Safety-Active Shooter classroom training session is part of WSU's proactive approach to ensure a safe campus environment and to prepare our faculty, staff and students in case of an incident of campus violence. Register through myTraining on the myWSU faculty/staff homepage.

* Correction: Nicholas Hartlep, editor of "Modern Societal Impacts of the Model Minority Stereotype" and author of "The Model Minority Stereotype: Demystifying Asian American Success," will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 30, in 127 Jabara Hall. Please note the correct time is 7 p.m.

* Transgender advocate Laverne Cox will present "Ain't I a Woman? My Journey to Womanhood," from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex. * Human Resources is sponsoring two contests for staff and faculty to win free tickets to see Laverne Cox at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Hughes Metropolitan Complex. To enter the giveaway, you must submit answers to trivia about Laverne Cox and her hit TV show, "Orange is the New Black." Look for the "Laverne Cox Trivia Contest" link located under Featured Links at http://www.wichita.edu/hr

* Here's another way to enter the Laverne Cox ticket giveaway. Submit answers to an online scavenger hunt about the Tilford Commission website at http://www.wichita.edu/tilford.
