* Nicholas Hartlep, editor of "Modern Societal Impacts of the Model Minority Stereotype" and author of "The Model Minority Stereotype: Demystifying Asian American Success," will speak at 7 p.m. today (Thursday, April 30) in 127 Jabara Hall. His topic is "Model Minority Sophistry: How Can Critical Race Theory Help Us Understand Anti-Asian Racism?" Admission is free.

* WSU's School of Performing Arts Musical Theatre Program will perform Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods" at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, April 30) to Saturday, May 2, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, in Wilner Auditorium. * Student Support Services is a federal TRIO program that provides free academic services to first generation students (neither parent has received a four-year degree), and/or to families that have limited incomes. WSU students with these qualifications share many challenges that make it difficult for them to persist in college. * In response to President Bardo's desire to position WSU as a regional provider and referral point for workforce training, the Office for Workforce, Professional and Community Education (WPCE) is surveying university colleges and departments to identify all workforce, professional development and community education programs being offered at WSU.
