Seeking three new fellows for the 2015-16 Coleman Fellows Program
Coleman Fellows are expected to redesign an existing course in their discipline or develop a new course that embeds entrepreneurship concepts into the content and projects of the course. Coleman Fellows also meet once a month to share and discuss their successes and challenges infusing entrepreneurship into their teaching, research, and other creative activities.
The current Coleman Fellows at Wichita State are Ramazan Asmatulu, Alex Chaparro, Barb Chaparro, Natalie Grant, Jibo He, Jim Hellman, Michael Jorgensen, Jeremy Patterson, Jeff Pulaski, Mark Schneegurt, Steven Skinner, Ron Stephen and Mehmet Yildirim.
Faculty selected as new Coleman Fellows will be required to do the following:
- Adapt an existing course or design a new course that incorporates entrepreneurship principles into the course content.
- Attend a two-and-a-half day Coleman Fellows Summit in Chicago this summer (Aug. 13-15) to learn entrepreneurship concepts that could be integrated into course content.
- Attend Coleman Fellows meetings during the fall and spring semesters that are held on Fridays once a month from 10 a.m.-noon.
Each first year Coleman Fellowship comes with a $3,500 stipend and paid travel to the Coleman Fellows August 2015 Summit in Chicago.
Non-business faculty interested in being considered for the Coleman Fellowship are encouraged to apply by submitting an application that describes 1) how a Coleman Fellowship will assist in the achievement of the faculty member's goals and 2) if selected, what course would the faculty member adapt or develop to include entrepreneurship content.
Please submit applications by Friday, May 15, and direct any questions regarding the Coleman Fellows Program to the Coleman Fellows Director Chris Broberg, associate professor of entrepreneurship, at chris.broberg@wichita.edu.
