* Six teams have advanced to the final round of the Shocker New Venture Competition, presented by Wichita State University's Center for Entrepreneurship. The final round will take place from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. today (Friday, May 1) in 107 Devlin Hall. * The Coleman Fellows Program at WSU is seeking to admit three new faculty fellows for the 2015-16 school year. The program comprises nonbusiness faculty members who are charged to advance entrepreneurship education across campus. Each first-year Coleman Fellowship comes with a $3,500 stipend and paid travel to the Coleman Fellows August 2015 Summit in Chicago. Submit applications by Friday, May 15. * The Office of Diversity and Inclusion seeks outstanding individuals to serve as peer mentors for the Multicultural Student Mentoring Program. These students play a major role in the transition of new underrepresented students. Peer mentors must be at least a sophomore with a 2.75 GPA. * Join Wichita State Shockerthon at the first ever Splash Dash, a certified 5K and one-mile fun run featuring water-themed games for kids along the route, on Sunday, May 31, in Sedgwick County Park. The 5K starts at 9 a.m., followed by a one-mile fun run at 9:45 a.m. The cost is $30 for the 5K and $20 for the fun run. Proceeds benefit the Children's Miracle Network Hospital and help kids served by Via Christi Children's Hospital in Wichita.
