* Untenured faculty are invited to an informal gathering of the Pre-Tenure Club at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday, May 7) in 326 Clinton Hall. * The WSU Symphony Orchestra joins forces with two university choruses for the annual Oratorio Concert at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, May 7) in Miller Concert Hall. For tickets, go to http://www.wichita.edu/fineartsboxoffice or call 978-3233.
* University faculty awards will be presented during the general faculty meeting at 3 p.m. Friday, May 8, in the Beggs Ballroom. The awards recognize excellence in teaching, research and creative activities. The reception will begin at 2:30 p.m. with light refreshments to meet and greet the honorees. Kenny Wilk, chair, Kansas Board of Regents, will give remarks and help with the awards presentation. The general faculty meeting will be from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
* The Office of Financial Aid will be closed from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, for staff development. For financial aid questions, students can contact the WSU OneStop staff in 122 Jabara Hall or at 1-855-WSU-1STP (978-1787).
* Accounts Receivable and cashiers in 201 Jardine Hall will close at noon Friday, May 8, for staff development.
* Student Support Services is a federal TRIO program that provides free academic services to first generation students (neither parent has received a four-year degree), and/or to families that have limited incomes. WSU students with these qualifications share many challenges that make it difficult for them to persist in college. Faculty members are encouraged to refer eligible students to Student Support Services in 112 Hubbard Hall to enroll in the program. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/sss for more information.
