* WSU is limited on the number of submissions for the U.S. Department of Education First in the World grant competition. If you are interested in applying to this program, you must notify the Office of Research by 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, via proposals@wichita.edu.

* The Ahlberg Hall parking lots will be reserved for orientation Thursday and Friday, May 28-29, and Monday and Tuesday, June 1-2.

* The Graduate School has completed its temporary move to 223 Grace Wilkie Hall for the summer. Come and visit, or call 978-3095.

* Educators and industry professionals from the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and math) are invited to attend the Kansas STEM Call-to-Action Forum being held Tuesday-Wednesday, June 2-3, at the National Center for Aviation and Training, 4004 N. * WSU Foundation end of fiscal year schedule -- Requisitions are due as normal by 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 24. Any emergency requests will be processed on Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30. The foundation does not encumber funds, and we cannot write any checks for fiscal year 2015 after June 30, 2015.

* A biometric screening, including lab work, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure and BMI is available year-round from 8-11 a.m. Mondays-Fridays for faculty and staff at Student Health Services in Ahlberg Hall. Remember to fast 10-12 hours prior to the appointment, except for water and medications. The cost is $25.

* Applications are being accepted for the Shocker Employee and Dependent Scholarship. The deadline for fall 2015 is Monday, June 1. Apply at https://lnkd.in/eYiguRC

* WSU faculty and staff are encouraged to submit a proposal for a presentation or workshop to the Michael Tilford Conference on Diversity and Multiculturalism by Monday, June 15. Named after WSU's own Michael Tilford, the conference will be held held Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19-20, at Pittsburg State University. It provides an opportunity for faculty, staff and administrators of Kansas Board of Regents institutions to share ideas and resources for building culturally competent campus communities.
