* Faculty and staff of the WSU College of Education invite the campus community to join them in celebrating Frank Lloyd Wright Day today (Friday, June 5) at Corbin Education Center. Tours of the building and light refreshments will be available from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

* Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a candlelight vigil at 5 p.m. today (Friday, June 5) on the east patio of the RSC to commemorate WSU student Abduljaleel Alarbash. This event will be held in honor of a student who was killed in a terrorist bombing in Saudi Arabia last week. While largely a nonreligious event, it will include statements from Muslim students and a recitation of the Quran to acknowledge Alarbash's Islamic faith. The event is organized by the WSU Muslim Student Association.

* The Kodaly Youth Choir will present a free concert at 5:30 p.m. today (Friday, June 5) in Wiedemann Hall. Under the direction of Calgary Girl's Choir conductor Elaine Quilichini, this short concert is open to the public.

* The Office of Research's "Animals, People and Export, Oh My!" workshop will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11, in 266 RSC. Topics will include Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Review Board (IRB), Export Compliance and Conflict of Interest Policies. All faculty and staff currently conducting research are encouraged to attend this workshop. Register through the training module on myWSU. * Wichita State's Instructional Design and Technology department is launching Tiny Desk Training for Blackboard. The program features face-to-face trainings, including Basics plus advanced tools such as Brainshark, Panopto, Discussions, Photoshop, Twitter, Collaborate and more). * Campus Recreation is offering swim lessons this summer at the Heskett Center. Lessons will be offered Monday-Thursday for two weeks or Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday for a month through the summer. Campus Recreation will run lessons through the first week of August. * The Wichita Crime Commission and Crime Stoppers are roasting Mike Kennedy, the voice of the Shockers. Doors open at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the DoubleTree Airport Hilton, and dinner will be served at 7 p.m., followed by the roast.
