* The Office of Research's "Animals, People and Export, Oh My!" workshop will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday, June 11) in 266 RSC. * A search chair/committee training class will cover the benefit-eligible hiring process, including completion of the AA01 documentation, and the roles and responsibilities of the search chair, search committee members and hiring manager. It is a great learning tool for anyone who serves as a search chair, or anyone wanting to learn more about the hiring process as a hiring manager, potential search chair member or administrative support. Training sessions start on Monday, June 15. To register, select myTraining under the Faculty/Staff tab in myWSU.

* WSU faculty and staff are encouraged to submit a proposal for a presentation or workshop to the Michael Tilford Conference on Diversity and Multiculturalism by Monday, June 15. Named after WSU's own Michael Tilford, the conference will be held Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19-20, at Pittsburg State University. It provides an opportunity for faculty, staff and administrators of Kansas Board of Regents institutions to share ideas and resources for building culturally competent campus communities. * The Red Cross and Klose Scholars have teamed up to host a blood drive this summer on campus from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, in 142 RSC. To make an appointment, go to http://www.redcrossblood.org/give/drive/driveSearch.jsp and enter 67226 as the zip code. From there you will search for the date of the blood drive.

* The Wichita Crime Commission and Crime Stoppers are roasting Mike Kennedy, the voice of the Shockers. Doors open at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the DoubleTree Airport Hilton, and dinner will be served at 7 p.m., followed by the roast. Tables of 10 are $950; tables of eight are $750; and individual tickets are $100. Call Julie Hower at 316-267-1235 or email julie@wichitacrimecommission.org for tickets. All proceeds will benefit Crime Stoppers of Wichita/Sedgwick County and projects and programs of the Wichita Crime Commission.

* Faculty and staff are invited to join President Bardo and his executive team for ice cream from 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, June 12, in the Bluestem Lounge on the first floor of the RSC.

* Plan now to attend Convocation 2015 at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, in Charles Koch Arena. Nearly 4,000 students, faculty and staff attended last year's event. Convocation is the official fall event that focuses on celebrating the opening of the academic year and serves as a special welcome to our student body.
