LAS announces new chairpersons LAS announces new chairpersons

-- Tom DeLillo, will become interim chair of the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics today (Wednesday, July 1). He replaces Buma Fridman, who served as chair for nearly 30 years and is returning to the faculty. DeLillo has previously served as the director of the physics program, which will now be directed by Holger Meyer.

-- Rhonda Lewis will become chair of the Department of Psychology on July 1. She replaces Alex Chaparro, who is returning to the faculty as the Carl and Rozina Cassat Professor in Aging and director of the Regional Institute on Aging.

-- Chinyere Okafor will become the chair of the Department of Women's Studies and Religion on Aug. 2. She replaces Debbie Gordon, who is returning to the faculty.
