* Join KMUW staff and listeners from 5-8 p.m. today (Friday, July 31) for our 8th Annual Fill Your Mug listener appreciation event at the Brickyard, 129 N. Rock Island. Bring your KMUW mug and Cero's will dish up handmade ice cream and sorbet. No mug? Some of our classics will be available for purchase at the event, or we'll provide a cup. Live entertainment will be provided by Back Porch Buddha from 5-6:30 p.m., and Nikki Moddelmog from 6:30-8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

* Shocker Hall dining will be closed Saturday, Aug. 1-Tuesday, Aug. 11, and will reopen Wednesday Aug. 12, with regular dining hours. Fairmount Towers also will open Aug. 12 with regular hours.

* Volunteers are needed to manually count bicyclists and pedestrians at several locations in the Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization region, including Goddard, Derby, Andover, Mulvane, Park City, Wichita and others from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, and noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.
