Sen. Jerry Moran hosted Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx at the Aircraft Structural Test and Evaluation Center, part of WSU's National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR), on Wednesday, Aug. 19, to meet with transportation officials and aviation industry leaders. Foxx leads an agency that oversees air, maritime and surface transportation, and works to ensure that America maintains the safest, most efficient transportation system in the world.

Foxx's visit included a roundtable forum with aviation industry stakeholders and representatives from both state and local government, and a presentation by President John Bardo and Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer and NIAR Executive Director John Tomblin.

Sen. Moran serves on the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, as well as the Commerce Subcommittee on Aviation Operations, Safety and Security.
