* Gather under the night sky and explore the films of India at 8:30 p.m. today (Friday, Aug. 21) at the Duerksen Amphitheatre. Presented by the Ulrich Museum of Art and the Office of the President, the Tallgrass Film Festival: Spotlight on East Indian Cinema will kick off during WSU Welcomefest with the film "3 Idiots," a comedy about college friends bucking the flailing higher education system. Rain location is the CAC Theater.
* New graduate students should plan to attend the Fall Grad Party to meet other new grad students and WSU faculty and staff who are eager to welcome you to Shocker Nation. * SGA and the vice president of Student Affairs will sponsor a new competition at convocation this year -- the show your Shocker spirit photo competition. The best individual photo will be awarded a grand prize. The best group photo will win a pizza party. Convocation will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, in Charles Koch Arena. * Students have two options to buy a parking permit, online or in person in Student Accounts in 201 Jardine Hall. Credit/debit purchases can be made online at http://www.wichita.edu/parkingpermit, and the permit will be available to pick up after 10 a.m. the next business day in the Student Accounts office in 201 Jardine Hall. In-person purchases can be made with cash or check in 201 Jardine Hall, and the permit will be issued at the same time.
