Walk-A-Mile in their shoes to raise awareness of sexual violence

SAC and Interfraternity Council present Walk-A-Mile from 6-9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. outside the RSC east patio and courtyard. Participants interested in this event should bring their Shocker ID. Men are asked to walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes and women are asked to wear sneakers, while anyone can come on out and cheer on the participants. You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes.

Following the walk, T-shirts will be handed out and a BBQ will be served to all participants, donated by Wagon Masters.

The International March to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence is an opportunity for all genders to raise awareness in their community about the serious causes and effects of sexual violence.
