The WSU College of Fine Arts School of Music presents a Rising Star Showcase Recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, in Wiedemann Hall. Prize-winning pianist Andrey Ponochevny, Bronze Medal winner of the 2002 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, will perform works by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Scriabin, Tchaikosvky, Medtner and Rachmaninoff. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for WSU faculty and staff, seniors and military, $3 for students/children and free for students with WSU ID.
