* The Council of University Women (CUW) September luncheon will be from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in 223 RSC. * The Lecture Series in the Mathematical Sciences presents Professor Michael Jablonski from the University of Oklahoma at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, in 372 Jabara Hall. Jablonski will present "Geometric Invariant Theory meets Riemannian Geometry." Come for refreshments before the talk at 2:30 p.m. in 353 Jabara Hall.

* Kansas NSF EPSCoR announces a funding opportunity for First Awards in the areas of climate or energy research or atomic/molecular/optical science. Letters of intent are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, and proposals are due by 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26. * It is estimated that at any time, about 20 percent of the population suffers from a mental disorder. However, less than half are being treated by a professional. The Counseling & Testing Center is offering free Mental Health First Aid courses to help individuals better identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health issues in others.
