It is estimated that at any time, about 20 percent of the population suffers from a mental health condition. However, less than half are being treated by a professional. The Counseling & Testing Center is offering free Mental Health First Aid courses to help individuals better identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health issues in others. Help yourself, help a friend. To register for the Friday, Oct. 16, course, go to myWSU and myTraining. Admission is free for faculty, staff and students, and a light breakfast and afternoon snacks will be provided. For more information, go to http://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org.
