Special student price for Wichita Grand Opera's 'Don Carlo'

WSU's Distinguished Professor of Opera Sam Ramey will star in Wichita Grand Opera's (WGO) new production of Verdi's "Don Carlo," at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at Century II. Through WGO's "Day at the Opera" program, made possible by 3-to-1 matching grant, WSU students can get group tickets for just $15 each (that's 75 percent off). Big groups can even get an exclusive backstage tour before the performance. For more information, call 316-262-8054 or go to http://www.wichitagrandopera.org. Ramey reunites with Luciano Pavarotti's favorite co-star, Italian soprano Annalisa Raspagliosi, who shared the stage with Mr. Ramey in his Kansas debut in Tosca. Uruguayan tenor Gaston Rivero, seen globally in Berlin's production of Il Trovatore with Anna Netrebko and Placido Domingo conducted by Daniel Barenboim, stars in the title role.
