Wichita Urban Professionals hosted their first Dreamchasers recognition event on Sept. 12, at Abode Venue. The event was created to celebrate Wichita's young, diverse and talented professionals. The Collegiate Impact award was presented to Latina Interest Association for the inaugural event in the female category.

It was awarded to LATINA for fulfilling a need for Latina students to connect with other Latina students and celebrate their Hispanic culture, all while supporting each other on campus to succeed and giving back to the Wichita Hispanic community. Latina Interest Association will transition to Kappa Delta Chi, a Latina-based sorority, in fall 2015. The group will continue to be a support system for Latina students at WSU and the Hispanic community of Wichita.
