Charlie Jenkins, an instructor in TRIO Upward Bound Wichita Prep Program (UBWP) at Wichita State, passed away peacefully on Sept. 20. He was 76 years old. Having served the UBWP for nearly 50 years in various capacities, Jenkins was an ardent supporter of college access programs for low-income and first-generation students. He was a beloved Saturday sessions coordinator, and a government teacher for generations of UBWP students.
