* Catch postseason Royals baseball at the Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes, and register to win a prize pack that includes an official Kansas City Royals bowling ball, bag and souvenir bowling pin. Registrations will only be taken during games that air during normal hours of operation. No purchase necessary to participate. The prize-drawing will take place and the winner will be notified after the Royals' season has ended.

* During Fall Break, the Heskett Center will be open from 1-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 10-11, and 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 12-13.

* Correction: Student Support Services (SSS) is a federal TRIO program that provides free academic services to first-generation students (neither parent has received a four-year degree), and/or have limited income. Student Support Services helps these students persist toward graduation. Faculty members are encouraged to refer eligible students to Student Support Services, 309 Grace Wilkie Hall, to enroll in the program. * The Institutional Review Board (IRB) has updated many of the applications and templates on their website. The IRB Administrator will hold come-and-go Open Labs this fall for faculty, staff and students who have questions about the new forms or about their study in general. Upcoming labs are from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, and 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in 405 Jardine Hall.

* University Libraries will host two workshops next week -- "Intro to Digital Presentation," from 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in 217 Ablah Library, and "Using APA in EndNote," from noon-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in 217 Ablah Library.
