* The 2015-16 Writing Now, Reading Now Series will feature poetry by Nick Lantz at 5:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 8) at the Ulrich Museum. Admission is free.

* Las Cafeteras, a group formed in East Los Angeles, will perform at 6:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 8) at the CAC Theater in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month. http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4323

* A training session on Microsoft Outlook 2013 Part 2 will be offered from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, Oct. 22, and Tuesday, Jan. 19, in 119 Jabara Hall. This hands-on training covers Online Archiving, which is a new feature available to those who attend. To view training dates and register for the class, log in to myWSU, locate the Quick Links channel and click on myTraining. Then locate the desired training session and click the Request button.

* WSU's Child Development Center offers childcare and early child development services. Children of WSU students, faculty, staff and alumni aged 6 weeks to 6 years old are eligible for enrollment based on availability. Cost is affordable and students may be eligible to receive discounted rates. * Grading for fall 2015 first eight-week courses ending by Saturday, Oct. 10, must be entered by 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. Faculty can access the Banner grading form via the Teach/Advise tab in the myWSU portal. A grading email with further details was sent to faculty and staff who are flagged as eligible instructors in Banner. Questions about grading can be directed to the Office of the Registrar at 978-3090.

* The campus student group AHINSA invites you to GARBA Night from 7-11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, in Beggs Ballroom in the RSC. Enjoy an evening of dance, fun and joy. There will be an Indian folk dance, DJ, music and fun for dance aficionados.

* The Aging, Perception and Performance Lab (APPL) seeks volunteers to participate in auditory, visual and cognitive assessments for a speech understanding research experiment on WSU's main campus.
