* The campus student group AHINSA invites you to GARBA Night from 7-11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, in Beggs Ballroom in the RSC. Enjoy an evening of dance, fun and joy. There will be an Indian folk dance, DJ, music and fun for dance aficionados.

* Intramural Sports needs futsal and volleyball officials to work these sports until the winter break. Futsal training will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in 105 Heskett Center. Volleyball training will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, in 133 Heskett Center. No prior experience necessary. Wear athletic clothing to the training sessions. * Coming back to campus on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from your fall break? The Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes is open until 10 p.m. Tuesday night to help you end your break on a fun note with bowling, billiards and great food. * Correction: Student Support Services (SSS) is a federal TRIO program that provides free academic services to first-generation students (neither parent has received a four-year degree), and/or have limited income. Student Support Services helps these students persist toward graduation. Faculty members are encouraged to refer eligible students to Student Support Services, 309 Grace Wilkie Hall, to enroll in the program. * Are you a student looking for a job? Then this event is for you. WSU is sponsoring the CareerQuest Autumn Career Expo from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Meet with potential employers, attend an information session on conducting a successful job search and have your resume/cover letter reviewed by a CareerQuest representative. * WSU's Child Development Center offers childcare and early child development services. Children of WSU students, faculty, staff and alumni aged 6 weeks to 6 years old are eligible for enrollment based on availability. Cost is affordable and students may be eligible to receive discounted rates. * Did you know students can live in the residence halls year round? Shocker Hall and Fairmount Towers do not close for holiday breaks or the summer. Dining Services does alter its hours during these times and is closed on most holidays and breaks. If you are interested in living in the dorms during the summer months, complete a contract with the Housing and Residence Life office.

* Register for Big Pink Volleyball, a philanthropic volleyball tournament with a 4-foot-wide volleyball, to raise money for breast cancer awareness. The event will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in the Heskett Center gym. The cost is $8 per person, which includes a free T-shirt and food. Teams must have at least five players. Register by 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, to get the early bird registration discount of $5 per person. Registration forms can be found at http://www.wichita.edu/BigPinkVolleyball. All registration forms, not including early bird registration, must be submitted to Student Health Services in 209 Ahlberg Hall by 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.

* Campus Recreation has open recreation hours for soccer at the Bombardier Learjet practice facility from 8-10:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. For more information, contact the Heskett Center.

* The Aging, Perception and Performance Lab (APPL) seeks volunteers to participate in auditory, visual and cognitive assessments for a speech understanding research experiment on WSU's main campus.
