Wichita State student chapters of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) have planned a number of events for the 2015-16 school year. These events are open to engineering majors and any student interested in learning more about manufacturing processes. IIE is sponsoring a tour of Pioneer Balloon Co., 2400 Pioneer Drive, in El Dorado, from 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. SME is sponsoring a tour of Coleman, 37th and Hillside, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, followed by dinner. The cost is $5 for students. General meetings for all students interested in IIE or SME are held on the second Friday of each month, with the next meeting at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in 211 Engineering Building.
