Reminders
* A meeting to determine interest in establishing a TOPS (Taking Pounds Off Sensibly) chapter for WSU will be at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, in the upper lobby of the Heskett Center. Learn about this wellness organization from Bev Rummery, TOPS area captain for Sedgwick County. For information, contact Shelley Rich at 978-5287 or shelley.rich@wichita.edu.
* Nigerian-born and Ohio-raised artist Odili Donald Odita will be featured in the next Ulrich Project Series, "Television," which opens Saturday, Jan. 17. Odita will work on colored Plexiglass surfaces to use their reflective properties and create energetic compositions. His inspiration for this installation comes from the split-second flash of light that fills a television screen just after it has been turned on.
* A new information literacy tutorial created by WSU librarians may help students understand the research process. The six modules are "Starting your Research," "Choosing your Topic," "Using the Catalog," "Finding Articles," "Using the Web," and "Citing Sources." Quizzes accompany each module, and are ready to upload into Blackboard. For quizzes and/or help loading them, contact Angela Paul at 978-5084 or angela.paul@wichita.edu. The modules are at http://library.wichita.edu/empower/.
* The elearning Resource Hub is offering a full slate of learning opportunities in January. For the flier and schedule, go to http://www.wichita.edu/training_mailer_january/.
