Reminders, deadlines and events

* Please return your completed United Way pledge form with your WSU ID number to payroll at campus box 38. Last year, WSU faculty and staff used United Way-supported services on more than 458 occasions. We used services in education (167), health (261) and income (30).

* Student Health Services will be closed today (Monday, Oct. 12) and Tuesday, Oct. 13, for staff training. Student Health Services will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14.

* The State of Kansas is offering free flu shots for employees and their spouses (employee's children are not eligible) who have a Caremark/State ID number. WSU's last clinic will be held from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, in 261 RSC. Fill out a consent form and bring it with you. * WSU is sponsoring the CareerQuest Autumn Career Expo from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Meet with potential employers, attend an information session on conducting a successful job search and have your resume/cover letter reviewed by a CareerQuest representative. * Join us at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, for a fun journey through Wichita State. As a participant of the USTAF-Certified 5K Pumpkin Run, you will receive a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt. Sign up at the Heskett Center or at https://runsignupcom/Race?raceId=24918

* Did you know students can live in the residence halls year round? Shocker Hall and Fairmount Towers do not close for holiday breaks or the summer. Dining Services does alter its hours during these times and is closed on most holidays and breaks.

* The Aging, Perception and Performance Lab (APPL) seeks volunteers to participate in auditory, visual and cognitive assessments for a speech understanding research experiment on WSU's main campus.
