The Office of Adult Learning and Admissions will host a new event for spring 2016 recruitment called Shocker Next Steps. Shocker Next Steps targets admitted returning adult students who never took steps beyond admission to enroll. We are inviting active students -- those who are admitted for spring 2014 through fall 2015 to recruit them to start in spring 2016. We expect the students who attend to get some of their preliminary steps accomplished and leave with a very specific action plan.

During Shocker Next Steps, students will be able to sign up for orientation, schedule placement exams if needed, sign into their myWSU account and email, start financial aid, schedule a Shocker Connection appointment and gather resource information.

We are requesting your department send any materials or information that you believe this population may find helpful. Materials may include brochures, handouts, giveaways or business cards; anything you would like to have available to new students so they are able to learn more about you and how to connect with your office.

We will have a station during the event dedicated to resource material. Also, you are invited to attend the event and talk directly with students. Just let us know if you plan to attend the event at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3.
