Reminders, deadlines and events

* The Institutional Review Board (IRB) has updated many of the applications and templates on their website. The IRB Administrator will hold come-and-go Open Labs this fall for faculty, staff and students who have questions about the new forms or about their study in general. Upcoming labs are from 12:30-2 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 15) and 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in 405 Jardine Hall.

* The next Pre-tenure Club meeting will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 15) in 326 Clinton Hall. If you want to be involved with the group, contact Gery Markova at gergana.markova@wichita.edu.

* "Change Agents: What is Community Organizing?" will be offered from 5-6:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 15) in 142 RSC. Join us for an interactive workshop that includes the history of social movements. Learn how power and privilege work and find out the steps it takes to be the change that you want to see. * Join us as we bring together various Wichita community groups for a panel discussion to "Focus on the Future" of LGBT rights and policies from 6:30-8 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 15) in 231 Hubbard Hall.

* Registration is open for the Majors & Minors Fair through tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 16) at http://www.wichita.edu/MMRegistration. The fair will be held from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, in the RSC Beggs Ballroom. Increase enrollment in your college and help exploring and undecided students find their dream program or complementary minor at Wichita State. * Shocker family members of all ages are sure to have an exciting time at the Fall Festival from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, on the south lawn of Corbin Hall. Enjoy an abundance of fall-themed activities and experiences, including a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, inflatables, fall-themed snacks and the annual WSU Trunk or Treat. Admission is free, but nominal ticket rates apply; cash and check only.

* It's Open Enrollment time! From now to Saturday, Oct. 31, you have the opportunity to make changes to your 2016 health insurance plan. Human Resources will present the new plans for 2016 now through Friday, Oct. 23; the State of Kansas also offers online webinars.
