WSU School of Nursing hosts 2nd continuing education conference

Wichita State University's School of Nursing is hosting its 2nd Annual Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) CE Conference. This unique conference provides APRNs, in primary and acute settings, the opportunity to further enhance their ability to assess, diagnose and manage health conditions. Pre-conference workshops will take place Thursday afternoon, Oct. 15, and the general session is all day Friday, Oct. 16. All sessions will take place at the Doubletree by Hilton at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.

"We are excited to offer pre-session workshops at this year's conference," said Patricia Dwyer, conference chair. "By providing this additional afternoon of education, we are giving our nurses more opportunities to obtain the latest information regarding our practices and up-to-date patient care in addition to providing contact hours for their license renewal."

This year's conference also includes a well-known speaker in the nursing community, Wendy L. Wright. Wright is the founder of Wright & Associates Family Healthcare and an associate with Partners in Healthcare Education. Her clinic is owned and operated by nurse practitioners. Wright is the keynote speaker on Friday, Oct. 16, in addition to offering general sessions on ER/LA Opioid REMS: Achieving Safe Use While Improving Patient Care.
