* It's Open Enrollment time now to Saturday, Oct. 31. This is your opportunity to make changes to your 2016 health insurance plan. Human Resources will present the new plans for 2016 now through Friday, Oct. 23; the State of Kansas also offers online webinars. * John Masly from the University of Oklahoma will present a Biological Sciences Seminar from 4-5 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 19) in 231 Hubbard Hall. Masly will present "The Evolution of Novel Sex-specific Traits: Understanding the Causes and Consequences of Genital Morphological Variation in Drosophila."

* The prestigious piano company Steinway and Sons will display what is perhaps its most famous piano today (Monday, Oct. 19) and Tuesday, Oct. 20, at WSU. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4346 for more information.

* WSU is sponsoring the CareerQuest Autumn Career Expo from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Meet with potential employers, attend an information session on conducting a successful job search and have your resume/cover letter reviewed by a CareerQuest representative. * Campus Recreation will offer half-price memberships today (Monday, Oct. 19) to the end of the fall semester. The cost is just $15 for faculty/staff, $18 for affiliate faculty. The half-price offer includes dependents of faculty and staff. The prices don't include tax. The Heskett Center also has locker rentals for any member that will be half off, $12 plus tax, starting Oct. 19.

* On Thursday, Oct. 22, myWSU will have a familiar but updated look. For a sneak-peek, go to myWSU and watch the tour -- employee tour is located on the Faculty/Staff tab, student tour on the Home tab. * The Office of Research will hold open labs for the Pivot funding opportunities database from 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in 405 Jardine Hall. Pivot allows faculty and staff to input their research interests and receive automatic notifications when funding opportunities matching their interests are available. No registration necessary. * The next "WSU Day at KLC" will be offered from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Kansas Leadership Center (KLC). Faculty and staff within WSU departments and units are encouraged to attend this program together. Participants must register in advance through a secured KLC web link.
