* Join us to discuss Arts and Politics in Contemporary Latin America at 7 p.m. today (Tuesday, Oct. 20) in 233 RSC. Dinorah Azpuru, WSU Political Science, and Claudia Costa Pederson, WSU Art History, will talk about contemporary issues in Latin America.

* WSU President John Bardo will present the keynote address at the Center for International Business Advancement (CIBA)-World Trade Council (WTC) of Wichita Banquet. The banquet, which takes place 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Wichita Marriott, will also include presentations from Anand Desai, dean of the W. * The Degree Works degree audit is an academic planning and degree progress tool that reflects students' academic progress toward degree completion from WSU. Faculty and advisors can access Degree Works through myWSU. Degree Works is for all students with a catalog term of Fall 2013 forward. On the Teach/Advise tab in myWSU portal, click "Run a Student's Degree Audit," under Degree Works. Training on Degree Works is available every Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in 124 Jabara Hall. Sign up through myTraining under the Faculty/Staff tab in myWSU.

* Faculty who are interested in mentoring undergraduate student research or creative activity or facilitating an undergraduate student research grant application may send their information to the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College. Send your name, title, department and preferred contact information, and the title and description of your current project/projects along with any particular student qualifications to undergraduateresearch@wichita.edu. * The Office of Adult Learning and Admissions will host a new event for spring 2016 recruitment called Shocker Next Steps. Shocker Next Steps targets admitted returning adult students who never took steps beyond admission to enroll. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4345 to find out more.

* WSU employees must complete van driver training prior to driving a 12- or 15-seat multipassenger van for WSU purposes. A training class will be held from 8:30 a.m.-noon Thursday, Oct. 22. * On Thursday, Oct. 22, myWSU will have a familiar but updated look. For a sneak-peek, go to myWSU and watch the tour -- employee tour is located on the Faculty/Staff tab, student tour on the Home tab.
