* What is it like writing comic book scripts, graphic novels, video game scripts and nonfiction books, as well as jokes for TV comedy shows? In this lecture at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday, Oct. 26) in the lower level of Ablah Library, Arie Kaplan will talk about his acclaimed career as both author and screenwriter.

* Andre Nerman and his Paris-based theatre company are coming back to present Eugene Ionesco's renowned comic drama, "La Lecon," at 7:30 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 26) in the CAC Theater. Admission is free.

* Christopher Leonard of the Counseling and Testing Center will lead a group this semester for individuals who would like to quit smoking. The group meets from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays in 320 Grace Wilkie Hall. This tobacco cessation group helps you at any point in your journey to being tobacco free.

* The Experiential Engineering Building Ground Dedication and Makerspace announcement will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, on the western border of the former Braeburn Golf Course, across from the National Institute for Aviation Research. * Graduate students who are interested in showcasing their innovative graduate research project are encouraged to submit a proposal between Nov. 2-16, for the Graduate Research and Scholarly Projects (GRASP) event. * The Counseling and Testing Center invites you to join us on Mondays for the LGBTQ Student Support Group from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, 208 RSC. This support group offers a safe place for individuals to come together and provide support to one another, talk about relevant issues/concerns, and be with other LGBTQ students on campus. This is a drop-in group, so feel free to stop by.

* Looking to develop skills as a student leader and get paid? The Office of First Year Programs is looking to hire new Transition Mentors to help welcome new students to Wichita State.
