* What is it like writing comic book scripts, graphic novels, video game scripts and nonfiction books, as well as jokes for TV comedy shows? In this lecture at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday, Oct. 26) in the lower level of Ablah Library, Arie Kaplan will talk about his acclaimed career as both author and screenwriter. He'll also explore the different creative processes he uses.

* A. Townsend Peterson from the University of Kansas will be featured in the Department of Biological Sciences Seminar at 4 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 26) in 231 Hubbard Hall. Peterson will present "Climate, Land Use, and Sea Level Rise: Diverse Drivers of Biodiversity Change in the Face of Climate Change."

* Andre Nerman and his Paris-based theatre company are coming back to present Eugene Ionesco's renowned comic drama, "La Lecon," at 7:30 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 26) in the CAC Theater. Admission is free.

* The Experiential Engineering Building Ground Dedication and Makerspace announcement will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, on the western border of the former Braeburn Golf Course, across from the National Institute for Aviation Research. * A WSU Doctoral of Audiology student needs subjects who possess a mild hearing loss for her research on the possible relationship between the subtleties of music and how they influence one's ability to hear. If you are 18 to 50 years old, consider participating in a 45-minute study to be performed this October/November on campus. * The State of Kansas Financial System (SMART) will be unavailable for all finance processing because of an upgrade from Nov. 5-12. Because of this, vendor payments (including employee travel reimbursement requests) received by Purchasing after 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, cannot be processed for payment by the State of Kansas until Nov. 13.
