Instructors and student-support staff invited to discussion panel, lunch on Nov. 5

The Tilford Commission and the Office of Academic Affair welcomes all WSU instructors and student-support staff to a discussion panel, "Trigger Warnings: Balancing Sensitivity and Education, Protection and Instruction," from noon-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in 233 RSC.

The panel will explore the controversies surrounding the use of "trigger warnings," or warnings given before an instructor or course introduces a topic that may be deemed sensitive, including how such warnings impact student learning and wellness, academic freedom and the atmosphere of the college classroom.

Panelists include Angela Demovic (Anthropology), Shaunna Millar (Social Work), Maureen Dasey-Morales (Counseling and Testing Center), and Mary Stolz-Newton (Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center).
