Reminders, deadlines and events
* The State of Kansas Financial System (SMART) will be unavailable for all finance processing because of an upgrade from Nov. 5-12. Because of this, vendor payments (including employee travel reimbursement requests) received by Purchasing after 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, cannot be processed for payment by the State of Kansas until Nov. 13. This means vendor payments may potentially be delayed for seven to 10 days. Please plan accordingly. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4367 for more information.
* The Experiential Engineering Building Ground Dedication and Makerspace announcement will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, on the western border of the former Braeburn Golf Course, across from the National Institute for Aviation Research. Join us as the colleges come together to present a dedication that will entertain and inform. Go to http://bit.ly/1Zd9Ywx to confirm attendance.
* The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will hold a webinar from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, about the R01 grant mechanism. R01s provide funding for health-related research and development, based on the mission of NIH. This webinar is designed to give participants useful insights into the application submission and peer-review processes of the Center for Scientific Review at NIH.
