BYOP to the Pumpkin Drop today (Wednesday, Oct. 28)

The WSU Society of Physics Students will host its third annual Pumpkin Drop at the southwest corner of Cessna Stadium at 5 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 28). Plopping various types of autumn squash from precarious heights (for science) is our idea of a good time, and we invite you to join us.

This event will be enjoyable for everyone. Who doesn't love Newtonian Kinematics? Dropping plain raw squash is cool and all, but wouldn't it also be exciting if we froze a few of them in liquid nitrogen and let them plunge to a shattering demise? Of course it would. That's why we are going to do it.

So if you want to see us make squash jam in a creative fashion and disintegrate icy pumpkins, join us.

Or, come and drop your own pumpkin for the event. It will be a BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) which you can decorate and devastate. Unite with us in destruction and science for a pre-Halloween event you won't want to miss.
