It is estimated that at any time, about 20 percent of the population suffers from a mental health condition. However, less than half are being treated by a professional. The Counseling & Testing Center is offering free Mental Health First Aid courses to help individuals better identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health issues in others. Help yourself, help a friend. To register for the upcoming Sunday course, which is split between Nov. 8 and 15, from 1-5 p.m. each day (you must attend both days to be certified in the full eight-hour course), go to myWSU and myTraining. Spring 2016 dates for this workshop are also available. Admission is free and a light breakfast and afternoon snacks will be provided.
