* WSU is hosting a career fair for SNT Media at 12:15 p.m. today (Tuesday, Nov. 3) in 262 RSC. Immediately following the session, SNT Media will take resumes for all positions and hold on-the-spot screening interviews. * Interested in current big cases in the U.S. Supreme Court? Need tips on applying to law school? If so, come to a discussion with University of Kansas School of Law Professor Lou Mulligan, Assistant Dean Steven Freedman and WSU alumna Julia Leth-Perez from 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in the Shocker Hall Multi-Use Room, Building A. * The Counseling & Testing Center is offering free Mental Health First Aid courses to help individuals better identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health issues in others. Help yourself, help a friend. To register for the upcoming Sunday course, which is split between Nov. 8 and 15, from 1-5 p.m. each day (you must attend both days to be certified in the full eight-hour course), go to myWSU and myTraining. Spring 2016 dates for this workshop are also available. Admission is free and afternoon snacks will be provided.
* The Tuesday, Dec. 1, deadline is fast approaching for the two tuition assistance programs administered by the Office of Human Resources. Employee Tuition Assistance is available for benefits eligible, nonteaching employees. The Dependent/Spouse Tuition Assistance is available for dependent children and/or spouse of all full-time employees of the university. Notification of applicant's status will be emailed to them within two weeks of the final application deadline.
* The Carl and Rozina Cassat Regional Institute on Aging announces a call for proposals for undergraduate and graduate student grants to support research or to support the development of innovative technologies or programs that address important issues in aging. Each student applicant must have a faculty sponsor.
