* Come get free lollipops, along with advice on smoking cessation in exchange for your cigarettes from noon-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 4) in 142 RSC. Also join the WSU Counseling and Testing Center from 1-2 p.m. on the topic and discussion of vaping and e-cigs.

* A Chemistry Colloquium will feature a talk by Fred McDonnell from University of Texas-Arlington. McDonnell will present "Ruthenium Complexes of Redox-Active Intercalating Ligands as an Emerging Class of Anti-Cancer Agents," at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 4) in 224 McKinley Hall.

* The Rie Bloomfield Organ Series presents Wednesdays in Wiedemann with Lynne Davis, at 5:15 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 4) in Wiedemann Hall. Admission is free.

* The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will hold a webinar from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, about the R01 grant mechanism. R01s provide funding for health-related research and development, based on the mission of NIH. This webinar is designed to give participants useful insights into the application submission and peer-review processes of the Center for Scientific Review at NIH. * Interested in current big cases in the U.S. Supreme Court? Need tips on applying to law school? If so, come to a discussion with University of Kansas School of Law Professor Lou Mulligan, Assistant Dean Steven Freedman and WSU alumna Julia Leth-Perez from 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in the Shocker Hall Multi-Use Room, Building A. * The Counseling & Testing Center is offering free Mental Health First Aid courses to help individuals better identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health issues in others. Help yourself, help a friend. To register for the upcoming Sunday course, which is split between Nov. 8 and 15, from 1-5 p.m. each day (you must attend both days to be certified in the full eight-hour course), go to myWSU and myTraining. Spring 2016 dates for this workshop are also available. Admission is free and afternoon snacks will be provided.

* The Office of Research is accepting nominations for the 2015 Excellence Awards in Research, Creative Activity and Community Research. Each award will be accompanied by a $2,500 stipend. All full-time faculty, including distinguished professors and endowed chairs, who have served at WSU for at least three years are eligible.
