Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* The next USS Senate meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in 200 Lindquist Hall boardroom. Please note the meeting was moved from Wednesday, Nov. 11, to Tuesday, Nov. 10.

* "Why is it time to abolish the death penalty" will be presented by Diann Rust-Tierney, executive director of the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, at 11:30 a.m. today (Monday, Nov. 9) in 233 RSC.

* Neil L. Kelleher will present a public lecture, "A cell-based approach to cataloguing protein molecules in the human body," at 2:30 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 9) in 209 Hubbard Hall. He also will present a technical lecture, "On the value of proteoform-resolved measurements in translational proteomics," at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in 324 McKinley Hall. Kelleher is the Walter and Mary Elizabeth Glass Professor of Chemistry, Molecular Biosciences and Medicine at Northwestern University.

* Today's (Monday, Nov. 9) Biological Sciences Seminar at 4 p.m. in 231 Hubbard Hall, will feature a talk by Erin Strait with Merck Animal Health. Strait will present "Career Paths in the Vaccine Industry: Is it for Me?"

* Classroom management is the topic of a panel discussion from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in 265 RSC. The panel discussion will be moderated by Linda Bakken, member of the Academy for Effective Teaching steering committee.

* Visit WSU South, 200 W. Greenway, Suite 15A in Derby, for an art exhibit featuring photography from around the world by Ted Ayres, WSU's director of Community Engagement and Opportunity, Vice President and General Counsel Emeritus, now to Friday, Nov. 20. Meet the artist and hear the stories behind the photography from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19. Admission is free.

* Welcomefest, Jan. 16-30, is a two-week series of events at the beginning of each semester that includes entertainers, crafts and other programming to welcome students back to campus. * It is time to receive annual billings from Canon Solutions of America for equipment rental and maintenance charges. Please pay both invoices on one ICD. Also, if you have any issues with the service your present machine is providing, please let the Purchasing Office know.
