Reminders, deadlines and events

* In light of recent events at the University of Missouri and elsewhere, President John Bardo invites students, faculty and staff to engage in dialogue about diversity and opportunities for moving forward together. * Classroom management is the topic of a panel discussion from 9-11 a.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 12) in 265 RSC. The panel discussion will be moderated by Linda Bakken, member of the Academy for Effective Teaching steering committee.

* The Entrepreneurship Fall 2015 Series will hold a forum, "The MakerSpace Revolution -- A Key to Building a Collaborative Culture in Kansas," from 3:30-4:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 12) in 107 Devlin Hall. Admission is free.

* Flutist Leone Buyse will perform at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 12) in Wiedemann Recital Hall. Buyse is professor of flute at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/fineartsboxoffice or call 978-3233 for tickets.

* You still have time to earn your $480 HealthQuest discount for 2016. Qualifying is simple. Complete the required Health Assessment Questionnaire worth 10 points and earn an additional 20 points (for a total of 30 points) by Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015. Not sure how many points you have? * Spring 2016 Welcomefest, Jan. 16-30, is a two-week series of events at the beginning of each semester that includes entertainers, crafts and other programming to welcome students back to campus. * The Office of Undergraduate Admissions would like to extend a special invitation to faculty and staff to participate as an observer at this year's Distinguished Scholarship Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 21. The approximate time commitment is 7:30 a.m.-noon. A light breakfast and short training session is included.
