* WSU Ventures is offering two workshops on copyrights and trademarks from 10:30 a.m.-noon and 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, in 10 Devlin Hall. Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the workshops, which will include a presentation by Cheryl Burbach, partner at Hovey Williams law firm, about intellectual property, available protections and how creative works are different from patentable material. * Join Student Activities Council (SAC) for its annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 18) and Thursday, Nov. 19, on the first floor, RSC. Purchase gifts for yourself or someone else from local merchants and artisans.
* Join us for a silent auction fundraiser from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 18) and Thursday, Nov. 19, on the first floor, RSC. The silent auction will be held during the arts and crafts fair from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
* Md Ali from Fordham University will speak at the Fall 2015 Physics Seminar Series at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 18) in 128 Jabara Hall. Ali will present "Molecular Biophysics: From Protein Folding to Drug Design."
* David Weis from the University of Kansas will speak at the Fall 2015 Chemistry Colloquium at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 18) in 224 McKinley Hall. Weis will present "Weighing up protein structure with mass spectrometry and hydrogen exchange."
* A panel discussion, "Voices of Partition," will take place at 6:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 18) in the CAC Theater. A reception will precede the program at 5:30 p.m. in the Ulrich Museum of Art.
* A Wage & Hour Training class will be offered from 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in 210 Ahlberg Hall. This class is valuable for timekeepers, supervisors and administrative personnel as it explains the nuances of timesheet and payroll coding for USS and unclassified professional staff. * Be aware that scammers are again calling university offices and identifying themselves as the university supply room. They will try to sell you toner cartridges that are "overstocked" and on sale, then ask for a credit card number. Please do not fall for this scam. Central Services does not hire outside vendors to sell cartridges or any other supplies, and we will always call from a campus telephone.
* Wichita State's Office of Engagement and Opportunity and the Hugo Wall School invite you to a tribute to Letitia Davis from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Fairmount United Church of Christ, 1650 Fairmount St. WSU's Karen Countryman-Roswurm will provide the keynote address.
