FedEx, UPS and U.S. Postal Service have announced that rates will increase. FedEx rates will increase an average of 4.9 percent effective Jan. 4. Effective Jan. 17, U.S Postal Service Priority Mail fees will rise about 8.6 percent, Priority Mail Express Mail will increase 14.4 percent, First Class Package Service will increase about 12.8 percent and Standard Post (retail ground) will increase 10 percent. However, First Class mail (letter) will remain the same.
