Reminders, deadlines and events

* Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance held on Nov. 20, which honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Stop by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) table from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 20) first floor, RSC, and learn more about TDOR and how you can be an ally to the trans community.

* In light of recent events in Paris, France, and Beirut, Lebanon, Pi Delta Phi-Epsilon Sigma Chapter (French Honors Society) will host a peace rally from noon-2 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 20) at the Plaza of Heroines in front of Ablah Library, to show solidarity for the victims and for the world. You are encouraged to bring signs, candles, flowers and/or items that are bleu, blanc, rouge (blue, white, red) and/or wear the colors bleu, blanc, rouge.

* Wichita State's Office of Engagement and Opportunity and the Hugo Wall School will host a tribute to Letitia Davis from 5:30-6:30 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 20) at Fairmount United Church of Christ, 1650 Fairmount St.

* WSU's School of Performing Arts brings a suspense-filled murder-mystery to stage at 7:30 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 20) and Saturday, Nov. 21, and 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 21-22, in Welsbacher Theatre, Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Admission is free for students with a WSU ID.

* Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes is the place on campus to watch Shocker basketball. The next televised game is Emporia State vs. Wichita State at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. Check out some of the great specials available two hours before each game at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4435

* Welcomefest, Jan. 16-30, is a two-week series of events at the beginning of each semester that includes entertainers, crafts and other programming to welcome students back to campus.
