Reminders, deadlines and events
* You're invited to the first International Thanksgiving Dinner at WSU at 6 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 23) in the RSC Beggs Ballroom. Come and gather around the table for traditional foods, activities and thanksgiving. Tickets are on sale in the Student Involvement Office (216 RSC) and Office of International Education (Garvey International Center). The cost for students is $5, and $10 for faculty/staff.
* All WSU students are invited to St. Paul's annual Friendsgiving potluck at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at St. Paul Catholic Student Center (previously Newman Center). Students are encouraged to bring their favorite Thanksgiving foods to share with friends and classmates. Turkey and drinks will be provided. Bring friends, bring food and help us celebrate.
* Student Engagement is evaluating the semester's activities calendar and is interested in your thoughts and feedback. This survey will take only two or three minutes to complete. At the end of the survey, you can enter your name into a drawing for two Shocker prize packages, including a captain's chair, baseball hat, T-shirt, Shockolate bar and other items. The survey will close at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23. Winners will be notified by Wednesday, Nov. 25. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4415 to take the survey.
* If you are graduating this semester and plan to participate in the Fall Commencement ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 13, don't forget to RSVP through the myWSU portal by clicking on commencement reservations. The deadline to RSVP to participate in the ceremony is 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. If you have not ordered your regalia from the bookstore, be sure and do it right away before the price goes up. If you have issues submitting an RSVP or questions, contact commencement@wichita.edu.
* WSU Choirs wants you to sing at WSU during the 2016 spring semester. All choirs are open to music majors and nonmajors. Ensembles accepting members for spring semester include A Cappella Choir (audition required, please email tom.wine@wichita.edu for audition information) and Women's Glee Club (no audition required, please email michael.hanawalt@wichita.edu for more information). * Space is still available for students to live on campus for the spring semester. Students commuting have the option of signing a spring only contract that ends in May 2016. Log in to your myWSU account and select "Campus Housing" under the home tab, and then complete the contract and payment. Room requests are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete the sign-up process as soon as possible.
* Free flu shots are still available to all enrolled students from Student Health Services in Ahlberg Hall.
