'Heating Up': An NPR news special on the Climate Summit in Paris

Political leaders from nearly 200 countries will gather in Paris today (Monday, Nov. 30) for a United Nations summit on climate change. The global community has tried before, with limited success, to find ways to limit warming of the planet. Will this time be different? Heating Up is a one-hour special hosted by NPR's Ari Shapiro and will air at 6 p.m. on KMUW 89.1 FM -- Wichita Public Radio.

The special examines the current science of climate change, how much time scientists say there is to address it, the political and economic challenges nations will face during the meeting in Paris and what solutions might come from the summit.
