Reminders, deadlines and events

* Members of Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka plan to stage a protest at the northeast corner of 17th and Hillside at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3. The messages and demeanor of this group are purposefully provocative. Because Westboro thrives on conflict, you may want to avoid that intersection at that time.

* From now through Friday, Dec. 4, a series of Finals Frenzy events comes to Wichita State geared toward alleviating stress, distracting from the pressure of exams and giving a positive kick-start to finals week. For more information or to see a schedule, visit http://www.wichita.edu/finalsfrenzy

* Student tickets for the Wednesday, Dec. 9 men's basketball game against UNLV will be available for pickup today (Wednesday, Dec. 2) at the Heskett Center, the University Bookstore in the RSC and the ticket office in Charles Koch Arena during normal business hours for each location. If you have questions, contact the Shocker Ticket Office at 978-FANS (3267).

* American Institute of Graphic Artists is raising funds by selling unique, affordable Christmas greeting cards designed by members of our group. If you would like to purchase cards in person, visit us from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 2) on the first floor, RSC.

* If you are graduating this semester and plan to participate in the Fall Commencement ceremony Sunday, Dec. 13, remember to RSVP through the myWSU portal by clicking on commencement reservations. The deadline to RSVP to participate in the ceremony is 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. If you have issues submitting an RSVP or have questions, contact commencement@wichita.edu.

* The Humanity in Action Fellowship brings together international groups of fellows to study minority rights and produce original research exploring how and why individuals and societies, past and present, have resisted intolerance and protected democratic values. Separate programs take place for five weeks every summer in Amsterdam, Atlanta, Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris and Warsaw. All applications are due at 1:59 a.m. CST Friday, Jan. 8.
