Reminders, deadlines and events
* Campus Recreation invites you to swim, play games, take advantage of state of the art fitness equipment and most of all have fun from 4:30-8 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 11) in the Heskett Center. Sign up for a Heskett Center membership on this day and receive a 10 percent discount on your spring 2016 membership and/or locker rental.
* Wichita State University will hold its fall ceremony of the 118th commencement in Charles Koch Arena at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.
* It's commencement week. Time to celebrate. Use the hashtag #ShockerGrad when posting and tweeting this week. We will pick up tweets that use this hashtag and display them on the jumbotron during Sunday's ceremonies. Also, you can change your profile pic (with a Twibbon) to celebrate this week. * Barton International Group has partnered with Qdoba at Rock Road and Center, to offer $6 burritos/bowls to WSU students when you show your WSU ID from 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 11). The $6 includes your tax and all the guacamole and queso you can handle.
* Textbook buyback is taking place now to Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the University Bookstore. Bring in your gently used textbooks during normal hours of operation to receive cash. Rental books are due back Wednesday, Dec. 16, with a $30 late fee charged after that date. A valid Shocker ID is required for all buyback transactions.
* Fall locker clear out in the Heskett Center is Thursday, Dec. 17. If you are clearing out, inform the Guest Services assistant. For renewal/signup for spring 2016, please go to Guest Services.
* Join the Community Service Board for its final Service in the City of the semester. On Thursday, Dec. 17, multiple shifts will be available for students to volunteer for the Angel Tree Toy Distribution at 1101 E. Central. Light snacks and a lunch will be provided to volunteers. * Need a gift for someone, but not quite sure what to get them? Stop by the Heskett Center Guest Services Desk and pick up a personal training or massage therapy gift card.
* Apply to become a resident advisor (RA) or peer academic leader (PAL). Applications are available now. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/RAPAL to apply. Applications are due Friday, Feb. 5.
