Remember -- 27th paycheck to be received on Thursday, Dec. 31

The state of Kansas has 27 paychecks paid in calendar year 2015, because of the timing of the Legislative approved holidays for calendar year 2015-16 and the pay dates. Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, is an approved holiday for State of Kansas employees, and falls on a payday, Friday. The State of Kansas paychecks will be issued on Dec. 31, 2015, which will be the 27th paycheck for 2015. Calendar year 2016 will have the regular 26 biweekly paychecks.

No deductions will be taken from the Dec. 31 paycheck for Group Health Insurance, Health Savings Accounts or Flexible Spending Accounts. However, United Way, parking, organization dues, deferred compensation, court-ordered withholdings, KPERS buyback, retirement contributions and VTSA will be taken out of the Dec. 31 paycheck.
