Edna Bates, assistant director in Financial Operations, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 28. She had worked at WSU handling accounts payable for more than 30 years. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at St. Marks Methodist Church, 1525 N. Lorraine, in Wichita. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Jackson Mortuary. The Office of Financial Operations is creating a memory box for her family. In addition, the office will close at noon Friday, Jan. 8, and reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11.
